It’s hard to pinpoint all the fragrance notes listed but I get some light florals, plenty of aldehydes, and more earthy tones. This fragrance combines the confident sophisticated gentleman well without smelling to brash or egotistical. The composition is built around woody, sharp notes, which are very powerful and masculine.Aramis is one of the few contemporary fragrances in which the well-known intensive leather note can easily be recognized. This fragrance should definitely be a must in every man every ages grooming cabinet. What Chanel No5 is to women’s perfume, Aramis should be to men’s cologne. But ONE spray, two feet away and this stuff is amazing!!! Now I smell the leather note that Aramis is so famous for and I LOVE it!
And that goes for any fragrance but especially this one.
It opens with a heavy citrusy musky cinnamon blend..musky though. In fact if I had to describe what the smell reminds me of I would say an old-fashioned antique store filled with the finest spices and freshest wooden floors around mixed with florals and musk.
My father had worn this for years and I remember it very very well growing up.
I absolutely HATED this when I first tried it, and it sat on my dresser for over a month before I tried it again. The first time I tried it, I sprayed 2 inches away and I sprayed HEAVY on both arms and my neck. Smells amazing in the Fall with a leather jacket and jeans. Just go easy on that trigger and stand back, let the MIST hit your skin, not the stream, and only then will you get the true essence of this masterpiece.
The next time I decided to give it another go, I sprayed it about a good two feet away from my arm, instead of 2 inches away and WOW! The Indian reviewer Has that dirty oily vibe to it.
