units have the basic furnishings so top up with the great buys at the many op shops for household goods.Peppers is near the Urangan pier end of town, very modern, good places to eat but further from the hospital. However, if was the OP I'd be looking at living a bit out of town ... If the apartment is on the 3rd level is that good enough? Are there clubs downstairs or is it just generally noisy.Every where is close by really no matter what suburb you live in. Plenty of tossers who enjoy starting fights up there to so be aware. Not very good shopping there either, Target is the big name shop they have there. Husbands relatives have retired there and like the place but I don't think it's a young persons place. When the tide goes out in Hervey Bay it really goes out! TBH if I were you I would look for contracts/locums around regional WA rather than cross all the way to QLD into Hervey Bay. Although Hervey Bay is a coastal town it is no where near the beauty of coastal towns back in WA.
Moved back to VIC after 5 years in the Bay as kids finished High school and there are limited job opportunities and they wanted the bigger study choices that Melb has to offer. Hoons (but they are everywhere); limited nightlife (try getting a coffee after 10pm) ; negative attitudes; rife Council-bashing; Whim me if you'd like some more specific info TBH if I were you I would look for contracts/locums around regional WA rather than cross all the way to QLD into Hervey Bay. Although Hervey Bay is a coastal town it is no where near the beauty of coastal towns back in WA.I've been from perth to derby, from brisbane to cooktown, and for you to generalise the east coast as a 'tin shed' .. You want to talk about a town that feels 'depressed'? Oh forgot to say Peppers – if you are working night shift make sure the apt is not on the lower floors I'd offer a little less than the 330 pw if you're looking at a 12 month lease (some agents only do 6months at a time to establish you are a good tenant). Most replies here seem to be that its boring, well, anytown can be boring, it's what you make of it.We came from Brisbane and people say it's boring..................these people need to get out and live a little! The term 'newlyweds and nearly deads' is very original.......is more like Redcliffe, not HB.
